Right now I am marketing full time. I spend a huge amount of time contacting other websites for backlinks and posting new links. This has risen my search engine rankings in around a month and a half. So basically I work when I want to but allocate a lot of time in order to survive. I would advise buying and reading as much as you can. I wouldn't rush into adwords or something like that without doing a lot of research. I would go with natural SEO as an alternative to adwords. But I would read about adwords anyways. My main high traffic pages were all optimized quite a time back.
