Advertising on DP?

Has the DP administration taken into consideration in having some kind of ad campaign on DP for advertisers? This forum already runs a lot of google adsense, but how about some ads from people who just want to purchase ad space on this forum?

1 small banner from one company could probably bring in at least $2,000/mo on a forum of this size.

The admin probably earns more than that via Adsense.
AFAIK , they don't sell banner space and links on this forum.
Even if they did, they won't be telling it. :D

Whatever it's called... Same thing. :)

Less work, don't have to deal with collecting money, fake credit cards, etc... Worth it in my opinion and I can spend m time doing important stuff.

Shawn, when you have people paying $2,000-$3,000/mo for a banner then you wont be getting much scammers. Scammers tend to target the sub $300 ranges. Most people will be a reoccurring client as well so you wont have to worry about it, most likely will be a subscription.

Interesting business model I guess. Let google take 75% of all the transactions, when you could have a merchant account and only lose up to 5%.

^^ You just need a payment processor which handles chargebacks etc. for a small fee and one employee if you don't have time.
No one knows what share google takes but one can safely assume it to be greater than 30%.
You could run a demo like thing for a month to ascertain whether the incremental income is worth the effort :)
2 billion+ impressions is after all a lot
