Advertising on a site you charge for?

Is it right to put PPC adverts on a website you charge customers to use?
If you was paying for a web based service, would you be happy having advertising on the site?

    It depends.

If the site doesn't have more than 1 ad unit then it's okay in my opinion.

It's still a contentious issue though.

I have been toying with the idea of placing "subtle" adverts on the site, but if I am charging for the use of the site, I am wondering if it could put off potential customers?

I think if there's one small advert in a discreet place then it's OK, but if you are overcrowding the site with adverts then it isn't acceptable, especially if they paid for access to the website: the customer will want to see a nice website that will be easy to browse without adverts distracting them.

You can do two different accounts (1) paid customer surf ad free (2) nonpaid customer surf with ad.
