I run a poker forum with my business partner and I hear that a great way to build links is to post on other forums relating to your niche. However, is it benefitting to my forum to post content on another forum in direct competition with me?
the main issue is not to spam. posting useful content on topics from your own niche, yes of course its beneficial. look at your target audience you should get more clicks than posting on a hairdressing forum no offense hair dressers lol
If I'm advertising my forum at my competitors forum in the exact same niche. Will I not: - Get banned. - Create duplicate content. - Target consumers already loyal to another site. - Boost my competitors ranking higher.
you should not get banned unless your spamming... take DP for instance how many advertise on the same niche here? thousands... The content you create is down to you. Of course the customers are loyal your not stealing customers your offering alternatives... If they are loyal they will remain so... A few posts isn't going to boost anyone
