    Hi everyone.

I realize that my blog has the same topic as many other blogs.

    http://real-financing.blogspot.com/

Since I am using a free host (blogspot), I am willing to pay for some advertising. Do you think if I paid for advertising, my blog would still have a chance at being successful? Roughly how much $ do you think I could make? Do you think I would be better off starting a new blog with new content?

PS. Can someone refer me to some good ways to advertise (paid methods)

i would say don't do advertising instead work on your site! make it on .com domain and then work on SEO

You got $50 a day to spend? Because that's what it's going to take just to get a LITTLE bit of traffic to that thing you call a "blog". The reason why it's going to cost you a lot is the same reason why you chose that topic in the first place -- because it's a high-paying keyword (finance). See how this works? Advertisers are willing to pay a lot of money to get people to click on their ads that show up on your site, so when you advertise your blog -- guess what? You become those people!

Listen, kid, I'm going to give you this advice, and you can take it or leave it:

You're 16. You're in high school. You heard Adsense was an easy way to make money (someone from school is probably doing it), and you have dollar signs in your eyes. You need to give up this "get rich quick without trying" mentality, because it's bullshit. You actually DO need to put a lot of work and effort and time and patience into blogging in order to make it pay off. Even for people who have actual, good blogs (i.e. they didn't just choose a high paying keyword and slap some stale, archive articles on it, but actually has real, ORIGINAL articles that they wrote themselves), it takes months to finally make some decent money. And some are still struggling.

It ain't gonna be that easy, but if you are willing to put in the work, the time, and persevere through the lean weeks and months when no one visits your blog, you can make it happen.

I agree with Jack. With any site (unless your lucky) it's going to take a LOT of work. A LOT of content, a LOT of exposure to the world to be successful. Also writing original content is something that get's people back to your blog, because they won't have the deja vu feeling of "I've read that before".

It's sort of like playing chess, setting up the board (site + content), moving your chess pieces into position (links + advertising) and then finally getting checkmate ($$$).

I'd say either don't aim for money and do it because "you" want to do it because your having fun and enjoying writing the articles. That, or aim small. Aim at that extra dollar per day mark and then work from there. I see some people with the $xxx.xx figure idealogy and when they don't see it they get discouraged.
