This is a two part thread.

    Part I

What is the preferred adverstising medium from the following list:

    Banner Advertising
This can include only graphical advertising. This can mean flash ads, or static ads, just so long as they are graphical.

    Text Based Advertising
This can mean anything from a link placed in a blog post or an actual text based ad placed on a website.

    Email Advertising
This can be either an email sent to your own private list, or this could be an email sent to a list service such as listdotcom.com. Also if this is your choice, then elaborate and tell whether you use text email or html email, or both and why.

    Part II

How successful are you with the different types of advertising. I know you may have a preferred method of advertising from the above list. Which medium are you the most successful with?

    For example:

I prefer banner ads, because it seems to be able to grab my attention moreso than text based ads. However, I seem to get more clicks from text links on websites and in forum/blog posts.

Also you can add whatever you want to your posts but keep your focus limited to the 3 mediums from the list.

I have grossed over 25 million dollars with 2 offers over the last 5 years with only opt in email, I have experimented with ppc and some print, but found that the ability to get volume just wasnt there.

I see a trend coming where google, in their efforts to take over the world, taking their auction style adwords far into the cpa space (a space primarily dominated by email)

I have been 100% remiss in learning search, and am looking to "bone up" on those skills in the near future so I cant comment on how it works as a traffic medium, except to say that I DO have some friends in the space with better cars then mine ;-)

I have tested some text links on adbrite with absolutely no good results.

I think this post has the potential to do really good things for the board, and I look forward to some of the replies, If anyone reading is interested in taking an offer into "big email" (and the numbers work) pm me, if the numbers ALMOST work, perhaps I can help...

I do not think banners work as well as they do a few years back...

Text links and email advertising still do better...

I am fine with anyone adding shameless self promotion to their post, so long as they contribute something to the original reason of this thread. However do not make posts to "PM ME" if you can't even respond to the original reason of the thread. If there is a request from shameless self promotion to PM someone, then just PM them. Don't add a post saying "PM ME". I am not trying to be a jerk... I just don't want my thread to be overrun with nothing but posts that say, "Hey I'm Interested, PM Me.". Nothing against you personally "moneymoguls"... but you didn't even respond to the original reason for the thread.

Just so everyone is clear about what I'm trying to prevent:

It is okay to make a post that:

    1. responds to the original reason for the thread
    2. shameless self promote away, so long as reason 1 is met.

It is NOT okay to make a post that:

    1. Requests someone just PM you when you haven't responded to the original reason for the thread.
    2. Says: "PM Me, I am interested.", or any variation of that sentence. This is not acceptable in any circumstance. I will leave negative rep for anyone who does this in the future. I will also modify the original thread post to reflect these changes.
    3. Make a post with shameless self promotion without answering the original reason for the thread.

Moneymoguls... I will not leave negative rep for you since I had not stated this previously. Just do me a favor and modify your post to include a response to the original reason for the thread. Thanks.

Sorry but I was not "shamelessly" self promoting myself. I was responding to another poster who has had great success with email marketing.

I don't think banners are very effective from past experiences.
