Hi, I own 3 text based browser games and want to try and increase the amount of players who play it. The three games; Dragon Wars Online Olden Times Online WW1 Subversion Online Now I've been told to try and get more SEO done on the site, I know the meta tags are rubbish. However at the same time I'm told that meta tags aren't worth anyway anyway. Also to post on game forums (WOW type) to try and get more players. However I don't see how other games, like enovy and a ninja game get so many players for a similar type of game. I know the games are basic, but they are fairly fast and people enjoy them. I just wondered if anyone could suggest any good methods to try and increase the player base. Thanks
hmmm, there's alot of ways to market and publicize games, I would recommend, making a video and put it on youtube. offering ingame rewards for refferals. yeah, that should you net you a bunch of extra players.
Hey, Thanks for replying ramkissoon. A good idea about the video, I was considering creating a new tutorial for the site... but making it in video and youtubing it might be a better option! I do have rewards for referrals already, but they aren't taken advantage of.. ah well. Cheers
As a player I would say getting a better front page so that it's not just a login page but maybe some pictures that attract people to sign up.
I was just about to say the same, you need some in-game screenshots on the homepage to entice people to sign up
I think you should start first redesign your games, at least the front page and then think about promoting.
Hello, After redesigning your front page and possibly your games look, I would say that forums would be the best place. Or possibly directories for RPG Games. As for your referral program , I would say to increase the rewards. Make players want to invite their friends. On top of that I would think that you are having some sort of paid idea in your game so make those rewards large as well. But if you really want to find out the best way to go, then just look at other top ranking sites. Try to mimic what they are doing, I mean there is a reason that they are doing so well. Hope this helps, Nick
