I hope someone here can help me. I have a sports-related site, http://www.nosaintshistory.com, a fan-site for the New Orleans Saints. I've really been working my site, doing the SEO and content thing, and I've got it up to PR4 status. Well since last season, I've been getting a few offers to sell tickets. Mostly commission and PPC. Neither which has done all that great for me. Well this morning I got an email from a place and they're offering me $300 dollars for a year contract. All they want is a text ad at the bottom of my main page. I did call them and actually spoke with a real person. I can't help but wonder if it's one of those "Too good to be true" deals. I was wondering what some of you here thought of the offer. Am I being too paranoid, or is this normal for a PR4 site?
It's better than average for a PR4 sports site, but it's not a super crazy amount. You can check out the links sales section of DP to see the typical going rates (or even sell more links). One more thing . . . Go Broncos!!!
that's pretty solid... especially if they want to commit to a full year, in advance. If not, try to squeeze a few more bucks out of them for a monthly payment... for example, $40/month via PayPal subscription. Of course, $300/year is good so don't sweat it.
Great site, you should try a forum, they work great for NFL Team sites. I´m a huge Cowboy fan by the way, thanks for destroying our season last year.
