Advertising Contracts?

Discussion in 'Legal Issues' started by thebassman, Sep 30, 2005.

I'm needing to put together a formal advertising contract that I can use for my sites to make the purchasing of advertising on my site a little more legal. What does everyone else use for their advertising contract? Does anyone have examples I can take a look at so I can put mine together properly? I'm starting to get some decent sized advertising on my site, and I want to make sure I cover my own ass, as well as give me the flexability to grow without being stuck with ad deals that are too cheap (as my sites grow).

    Thanks in advance.

Bassman, check out the URL in my profile, this has an advertising terms and conditions page under the 'advertise with us' section. Not sure if this is what your looking for.

Not exactly what I'm looking for, but a good read for another project I'm working on. ;)

What I'm specifically looking for here is a contract you would put on the bottom of your invoice when people purchase advertising. It would include things that would cover you in every instance - legaleze stuff... know what I mean?

Yeh I know what you mean now. Hmm do you have an advertising standards authority where you are. For example in the UK we have www.asa.org.uk your equivilant might have something on there to help you.

    Other that I'm not sure.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that site... I'm in Canada, but most of the business I do is with companies in the US...

Hmmm... didn't really find what I was looking for. I'm just looking for a basic advertising contract that I can have advertisers sign so to cover my own ass, you know?

Does no one else use contracts when selling advertising on their site?

What about various places where they sell legal forms online? Most are only a few dollars. I've got one or two free legal contracts on my site (example - non disclosure agreement) but don't have one for advertising contracts, sorry.

Yeah, I've taken a look at a couple of those sites... haven't really found anything applicable for selling online advertising space...
