Advertising alternatives

I have been using Google links block at my web site header and so far the results are not very impressive. I feel I could be better off with other programs. The web site is an online shopping niche oriented - mostly people looking for consumer electronics deals. What will you suggest as an alternative to Google AdWords? Has anyone had experience with Adbrite? They seem to be charging low comission. Any other not-PPC programs worth looking into?

Have you tried affiliate networks? Some sites work better with affiliate ads where they get paid on a CPA basis like someone fills out a form or something. There's also the yahoo publisher network or YPN and I've heard people talk of clicksor in the same group but these are also CPC programs. IncentaClick probably has some campaigns that would suit your site.

You can also try selling links on your site if you are looking for other ways to monetize your site and you have PR3+.

I got rejected from Value Click probably because my site design is not that good or they want very high traffic sites, I'm not sure. I think the site is at http://www.valueclick.com/
