Ok, we all have ways of advertising our site.

However, what are your best methods on a budget?
I'm talking about only a couple hundred dollars here.
The site is related to parenting.

Thank you for your time. :)

You can do free directory submissions or pay someone a small fee to do free directory submissions for you.

You can write parenting articles or have someone write them for you a distribute them for free leaving the URL to the site.

You can possibly buy sig links in a parenting forum.

    Just a few ideas... :)

I would say that press releases work quite well. Try to write new ones at least once a month and keep posting them to the same places. That gets traffic and PR.

I wouldn't use paid advertising a lot in your niche because I don't think there is a lot of competitors in this field. I would not overestimate paid vs free because I know that free is better than paid if more effort is being put into it. It depends on the time you have. The more money you have to advertise the less time you need sitting in front of your pc everyday hammering away. I would use things such as forums (parenting forums, WAHM Forum) to advertise and I would mainly focus on Search engine submission, and article marketing. Also I would recommend that you have a blog linking back to your site, plus it adds a reputation for you by having that blog and sharing some info with others. Hope this helps :)

This thread right here on this forum was very thought provoking regarding traffic blitzes...

Supposedly the tactics described are useful, not just to drive massive instant (and NOT permanent) traffic to your site. A small percentage of those will also link to your site and that may also be a big help to you.

    1. Buying links from a high PR site related to parenting?
    2. Paying someone to write parenting articles for a few dollars to get traffic from search engines?
    3. The free one - word of mouth and emails to all your friends and family asking them to forward it onto their friends and family :)

    Hope it helps.
