Advertising a niche forum

I have worked myself to the bone trying to make my sites profitable with very little success.

My forum ferrarifans.net is one primary example. I would have thought the domain alone would be enough to get some traffic. We had a spike of traffic when we first opened but now it's totally dead.

So, How would you go around advertising such a niche forum as this? I mean there are lots of Ferrari fans out there. Its just hard to get to them to take a look. I know there are a lot of Ferrari owners out there too, I have seen them on other Ferrari forums.

What can I do to market my community more?

    Matt :)

Add it to search engines and enter the link into forum signatures. ;)

Visit larger, more established forums and through your posts become a resident expert on your topic. Quietly include your forum in your signature. Once in a while (use it sparingly and wisely) mention conversations on your forum when the information exchanged would be beneficial to the membership of the larger forum. I am a member of several forums that I found that way.

The key is to be subtle and helpful on the bigger forum otherwise you will be written off as a link-dropping spammer.

    Good luck!

Post often in other forums related to your subject (and have a link in your signature)
