I belong to a marketing study group and this weeks assignment is to come up with a unique business idea that is as close to guaranteed to make money as possible, the only limitations are the idea must be used existing technology it cannot be a in theory only idea so I am trying to come up with a unique idea and so far the best idea I have is to sell Advertising on the United States Space Shuttle (The liquid center tank) would be the primary ad space and then I could also sell smaller ads on the solid boosters on each side of the tank so 3 spots every launch that is broadcast all over the world on almost every major network, the concept would be based on the idea of increasing revenue for NASA and I think sponsors would be knocking down the doors to advertise, just think the next time Coke or IBM have a new product to launch what better way then to blast off the idea on the side of the shuttle?...

Let me know what you guys think of the idea and NO I do not expect to actually do this.... It is only a research idea to make people think...

I'd says it a good idea, but I'd research one thing before using it. Personally I don't believe shuttle launches have that large viewerships anymore, but I'd look into that as I could be wrong.

Definitely a creative thought, I'm sure you'll get an 'A' on the project. :)

But in order for them to do it so people can see, it must be covering a pretty big portion (I'm talking about at least 50% of the shuttle) so people can see it... The news reporters are about a mile away filming the launch, so it has to be big for everyone to see it through the TV.

As far as eyeballs you are correct that it is down, but every launch is still carried on most major news networks and that is lots of free tv time.

The size of the ad's would be huge because the center tank is over 150ft tall and 30ft in diameter.
