Contest Advert/banner contest $15

I am wanting 2 adverts designing for my new book to use on my blogs. The sizes I need are 728*90 and 125*125. The winner will provide .psd and .jpg files and will be the preferred supplier of a second book that needs identically sized banners.

The contest is for one set but you will immediately get a second order.

The front cover of the book I am wanting to promote/sell is



The photos used in the cover were purchased from istockphoto.

Contest is 3 days - please provide both sizes - feedback will be provided.

My 1st Entry 125 x 125:

 

Thanks for the entries so far, guys - here are my comments:

General comment - it would be good to see both options - it is very difficult to make a valuable comment on just the 125x125 item. Also out of the 5 entries so far 2 of them have spelling mistakes. I realise they can be corrected but they leave me with an impression that you aren't good on fine detail [not a good impression!].

Lucas1023: I like the colour and clean look but please refer to the two general comments above.

D-zel - also refer to the two general comments above but also I think it is a little dark and the emphasis is on the 101 with the real details in small type at the bottom, so this version isn't what I am looking for. Feel free to try again.

CGDesigns - thanks heaps for following the brief - that alone puts you in front. I like the colours I think the only thing I would change would be the font for my name - if it could be a little 'lighter' - I dont mean in colour but in thickness/boldness.

HugoDorfling: I do like your one - I like the incorpration of some photos. Not 100% sure that I like the angle on the 101. But I would like to see your 125 x 125

Saaz12: I like the colours you have used but I cant make any real suggestions until I see the larger sized one.

Thanks Saaz - the only thing I dont like is the 101 part, doesnt look clean/crisp enough. Also can you change the word 'from' to 'by' .

Hi Buncoh - if you can correct your spelling mistakes [3 individual ones with one duplicated making 4 in such a short time!] that would make things a lot better.

 

Lol, just consider the misspelling as watermark of my design
It may not be changed right now.

Bad news Bunoch - I actually consider it [as I said before] a lack of attention to detail, which is not a good trait for a designer.

CGDesigns - thanks for the revision - a great improvement.

bunoch - I like the design, the colours, the shading, the crispness, the photo - probably my favourite so far - BUT - there is still a typo. praCtical
