Adverstings and the ethics do they mix?

I've recently started to promote some skin products via PPC and while they are starting to sell. I have a quandary as was wondering now everyone else deals with it. And the reason I bring it up is because of this post. It's a well written ad but it's pretty much a lie.

I've done quite a bit of split testing on different worded ads and the ad that is more likely to be clicked on says ' guarantee to work' of course it's a complete lie I've used this product when I had this issue and it doesn't work. There are many reviews on this product and they don't work.

How do you deal with it? We are here to make money but how do you stomach it when you know it won't work and you know this product is aimed at teenage girls who are going to be stressed out because of it.

My mentor said that once you enter advertising as a career you ethics have to take a back seat?

    What’s everyone else idea?

To say a product does something when you know it doesn't is more than immoral, It's illegal.
