I've got a few questions for you guys that I need answering. I've tried search but everything seems juggled. Maybe my questions are not advanced but very "noob". But here they are. 1. I've installed the All in one SEO plugin. Works great! However in the All In One plugin setting options it says "use no index for categories", which is unchecked. I know this is to stop bots finding duplicate content, but what happens when I create a new post and back date it, so it's not shown on the home page but in a category. How will the bots find that post if the catergories are set to no index? 2. On my wordpress blog I've configured the <title> tag and the <h1> tag to be the same, both are the name of my blog (obviously). My homepage has all the new posts by default. Every new post on the homepage has the new post title in <h2> tags. Going along with the SEO structure e.g. <h1> to <h6> most important keywords first etc. If my new post title (<h2>) is not relevant to any of the <title> or <h1> tags on my homepage, what happens? 3. THIS IS NOT ABOUT WORDPRESS I've been reading about article submissions etc. If I have an article on my blog can I use the exact article (copy and paste) from my blog and submit it to ezine and the other article directories? What effect does this have, duplicate content penalized etc? Should I re-write an article and submit it instead? 4. THIS IS NOT ABOUT WORDPRESS I've seen the word OP been used here, does it mean "original poster"? 5. THIS IS NOT ABOUT WORDPRESS I know that having a signiture with your keyword in anchor text helps. But aren't you giving away your niche by telling everyone your keyword and your website? I've been reading on SEO for a while now and these are probably stupid questions. But hey, I need some help dudes! I would appreciate responses which answer the questions exactly. As this thread might help others who need answers too. Here it may go: 1- Installing a sitemap plugin will sort this prob out. 2- Doesn't sound a problem to me. 3- Since those article directories are more famous than your site, and content there goes prominent even you post on them malter, better is to chnage it to a bit, i.e. 30% difference. [rewrite is a good option] 4- Not sure, it may also be Opening Post 5- No way... coz there are many many tools that can tell the competitor about your keywords in one way or other, so stopping forum signature just because of this reason sounds not good.
