Advanced script URL is not valid

    Hi -

I am trying to set up an account for your keyword tracker tool. I created a .php file and copied the code from the account form. I called the file KeywordScript.php and uploaded it to the GoDaddy web server. I tested it at http://muzzmarketing.com/KeywordScript.php and the script appeared (is something else supposed to appear?)

When I entered the URL into the account form, I received the following message:

    Please fix the following errors...
The advanced usage script URL is not valid.

Now I have no idea what to do. I am new at this and was amazed I got this far.

    Thanks for your help.

Whatever you used to upload it, made it an HTML file and added HTML tags to it.

Aha -- learning as I go. Got that part fixed. However, now, I'm not getting any results for the queries. I am a small agency working with a few clients. Do I need to put the script on each client website to get ranking data?

No, you don't. What's a URL/keyword combo you think it's reporting wrong, and what position do you think it should be reporting?

Here are a couple of examples:

    kenmode.com -- precision metal stamping
We typically rank about 15 in Google, 95 in Bing (great consistency, huh?), and somewhere in the middle for Yahoo. Keyword Tracker showed N/A across the board last night. I just re-ran the report and now Google shows up, however Yahoo and Bing show N/A.

    muzzmarketing.com -- muzz marketing
Typically rank #1 in Google and Yahoo and nowhere to be seen on Bing. Keyword Tracker shows only the Yahoo result.

Also, for such a small group, how long does a query usually take to complete? Should I hit the "refresh" after I receive a "complete" message?

Well by default you can only search up to 20 deeps, so that would account why some of the stuff wouldn't show up. The others looks like it may just be data center variation. Like I tried "muzz marketing", and it was showing in the #1 spot for Yahoo, but Google notoriously varies results based on data center locale... so it might be considering it more of a local listing, and the results are going to be based on where the server is that is running the script you installed.

I see. Our goal is to get to top 10 so hopefully we'll start showing soon. Is there a limit to how many queries I can run? For example, I have a meeting in the morning with a client who has about 5 competitors vying for the same keywords. I'd like to run a report showing him how he ranks compared to them. Will consist of about 10 keywords for 6 different companies. Thanks for being so responsive...

No, there is no limit on the number of queries you can run. At least not a limitation WE impose. Yahoo does limit you to 1,000 queries per day I believe though (obviously that would only apply to Yahoo queries).
