I want to learn how to do advanced image deployment across multiple machines, it seems like it would be a really useful idea for a [hopefully] future IT administrator! =] For example, say I have a Server (running Linux) and several client computers running Windows 7. If I create an image of one of the computers (let's say for simplicity they're all the same hardware) and send that image to the server: How can I get each of the client computers to boot an image from the server checking to see if they have the latest version of the image, if not, automatically download the latest image and image the computer. Realistically, it probably should be automated so someone wouldn't have to run around to each computer. Are there any books on this subject? I'd rather use Linux to maintain an image server because it would be the cheapest solution... Can anyone give me some insight?
