Hi mates, I have a question about link building techniques. As far as I know, bulk directory submission is a waste of time and often people don't prefer to do blog commenting and forum participation for getting backlinks. So here is what I was wondering: What are the advance techniques of getting backlinks? I know there are niche related links but not all site owners and webmasters agree to exchange or place links. I would really appreciate some serious and professional help on this topic. Regards, Ovais
Well there is no real one strategy, it all depends on your field, and more importantly, your time. It's all about being creative, doing favours, and having excellent content. I contacted a guy who writes really well and asked if he'd review my site, he did, he wrote about it and gave me a link. No paying no nothing, just by being friendly. You can usually offer people different things in return for links, a good one is to offer them a weeks worth of ad space in return for a link. As most people don't realise the value in links. Theres a couple of things for you to think about...
I am very much amazed by the strategy you have mentioned. And you are right, people should be offered something in return (except for a link exchange). But mate, how can I follow this strategy if I have a new site or an on-going site and I need several links a week for that site??? I mean, just take an example of one of my site; I am about to launch a resume writing site and it doesn't have any backlinks yet. So what initial strategy should I be adopting to get quality and instant backlinks? (besides from conventional techniques like directory submission, article submission and etc.) Thanks for the reply though.
Well, really i would advise you start with these. As they are the base work, the ground work needed so google know exactly what your site is about. Once you've solidified some cheap crappy links. Then you start using the techniques, if anything you have the PERFECT site for it. Offer a discounted resume or free resume to anyone who links to you and shows it. Create a page dedicated to this technique like a normal promotional offer? Also, press release the opening of your new site once it's open.
The best way to get backlinks (I don't know if it's advanced or not) is to push out content to article directories. If you write one or two articles, and submit them to as many article directories as you can find - people will republish that article and consequently list a link to your site as well.
No, it's really not a good technique at all. And if you aren't sure if it's advanced or not you should find out first before writing about it, it's a poor low quality way to get your first links, thats all. It should NEVER be used as a sole way to get links. Sorry to burst your bubble though!
Thanks for the tip mate, but I already tried this one and frankly, for one of my site, out of 250+ backlinks I only got 2 from this technique. Besides, I was asking for new techniques of getting relevant and quality backlinks. Thanks anyway though.
Mates, I am still looking for some help regarding how to get quality and relevant backlinks for a website. (Please avoid suggestions with conventional techniques like I've mentioned in the starting of this thread > directory and article submission and bookmarking etc.) Thanks,
If you can give me an idea as to what sort of site you are attempting to rank or create brand awareness for I may be willing to tell you few things. I don't do link wheels, social bookmarking, blog commenting, dir. submissions or anything of the sort. Nigel
Mate, I am asking it "generally". I mean I would like to know about how to get backlinks for almost every site related to any niche/category, whether it's dynamic or static, ecommerce store or a small business web design. I hope this clears. Thanks,

Writing high quality guest posts for blogs in your niche can get you some good links. Don't ask just send them over, and don't send the same one to more than one blog unless they have already said they won't be publishing it. Using SEO Spyglass to 'steal' competitor keywords is also a good idea, you can do it for the top ranking sites for your exact keyword and other popular related search terms.
To say "Advance" is really not a term you can use in link building.. Your is not more advance than mine. See what I mean. Everyone here has a different way of going about building links to their website. I, for example, build backlinks by way of article marketing. But, what it really comes down to is the quality of content you write about and provide to your readers or the authority or quality of the site your link is on.
If you're looking for high quality links then fast solution is to buy links while guest blogging is also another solution to get few links on blogs accepting guest posts but it is time consuming, Article Marketing comes at no 3rd to get bulk links. So, here is comparison Link Buying: Fast - Costly - High Quality Links Guest Blogging: Slow - Costly - Quality Links Article Marketing: Fast - Cheap - Bulk Links with AVG Quality.
Thanks for all your precious tips mates, really appreciate it. Now one thing I understand is that people are giving more weight to article marketing and guest blog writing to get quality backlinks. In short, youall mean "Content is King" (which I already know, hehehe). Still, both techniques are time consuming but I am sure this would surely bring some quality results but the quantity would be very very low. Also, there is a thing which is still bothering me. If I choose to get backlinks from articles/blog posts, than how many articles should I be writing on regular basis! Let's say, to get 100 links, should I write 100 articles and for 1000 links; 1000 articles? I don't think this would be a cheap and continual strategy to get backlinks (if I am working solo and with limited budgets) I look forward what you guys think about this scenario!
Usually people make an article submit it to one article dir, then twist it so it will be new article then submit it on different article dir. it will not cost you too much.
I don't know if you can call this advance technique but if you want a backlinks that stays for good you can used social networking site or social bookmarking site where you can post topic of your choice and then make an update atleast once or twice a week in order for your visitor to have a reason to comeback in your niche. You can try squidoo, mixx and gather and also digg - but this social bookmarking site is really strict when it comes to spamming.. that's it hope it helps
I just have a few points: first of all you need to have patience while doing seo, its a slow process where by you can acquire backlinks. To short cuts. Try all the off-page methods such as blog commenting, setting up blogs, article submissions. The best and most effective method from my experience would be social networking. Good luck Mate!! Cheers!! John
