If you go with their PPC payout then enjoy how they will retroactively convert you and rip off your earnings if they don't like the quality of your traffic.
wow, for a company as big as aff.com. I didn't expect them to play dirty. I guess i see $90 a pop and get excited, who would pay that much for a dating site anyway?, now for web hosting I can see paying that much. But overall, very surprising to hear these reviews. I've had some success with AFF ($328 earned and paid out so far) but conversion ratio isn't as good as it seems like it would be... I've sent them 3,661 unique IPs... So that works out to about 9 cents per unique sent... not too great. I'm sure there are people doing much better.... But that's my experience.
I work with aff and other sites in there network and I found out that only things that is worth to do in persentage and per order payout. ppc and ppl works only with high quality and targeted visitors. They have paid me every time on time, so I don't have nothing bad to say about them. Most people that use them decide to use ppc or ppl, but then they forget to read TOS where stated clearly that you have to bring good traffic or they will take your money back. Some think that this is BS, but if you think about it they can't bay you if you don't make them money. Converting ratio is not that great and that is probably because you cen see them all over the net. Although CR is low, there payout is much higher then most of other sites, so your earnings would be about the same. If you want better CR, choose a bit less knows dating affiliate site.
I think that is well said PixelHut. However, I still take issue with them retroactively reversing your earnings. After all, they pay every two weeks and the earnings are legit so they're risks isn't great. If they aren't converting enough free signups to paying members then that's an issue on their end. I call their terms a ripoff.
I always have used the % payout. Never bothered with the PPC. It seems to me that most of the people who get mad about them changing their account from PPC are just sending them junk traffic trying to rip them off. If you are going to send good traffic you might as well just use the % payout anyway.
I've used them for about 4 years now... See no problems getting my checks at all. Just purchased by Penthouse. They do an excellent job of converting free members to payed members! Not sure how much mail and stuff they send, but 9 times out of 10, if you get a free member, usually, they will convince them to join. Everyone suggests the percentage payout, which I do use. They offer many types of ad formats, which I like, they always update,change and ad new formats. If I had to guess, I'd say 90% of my free members convert to payed. I display the links on my bikini sites, and do no PPC to AFF or my bikini sites. I was told Google will close your adwords account if you display it on the same page as AFF ads, so I don't use Adwords on these sites. I've called them twice about some concearns and they answer the phone promptly, are helpfull and even offer suggestions on what ads are hot if you ask! I'd reccomend giving them a try...
I dont mean this argumentivly or anything, but if the traffic isn't converting, it might not be the right "type" of traffic. For the record, I do not work for AFF or promote any signature links on this site with websites that link to AFF... Just wanted to express my own experience with AFF since there are so many rip-offs for webmasters around, I just wanted to share the fact that AFF is ligitimate if given a chance, and the right traffic...
I once promoted Adult Friend Finder and made a mint. Used the percentage payout option. Traffic came from a dating related term, and was converting at 1 in 4 for a free sign up. 1 in 10 of the free converting to paid. Mostly Organic traffic from Google.
