I am dismantling osdate for a site I am working on if that helps. Its a bit of a pain but it serves as a fairly good backend to get things rolling(zip codes for the entire world etc.). I plan on replacing it with some custom stuff but it is going to take us a little while to get it done.

Why go for a clone script, there are plenty of providers out there that offer whitelabel solutions for such things, saves on cost of server, bandwidth etc..

 

yes but does not save on cost of script which can be quite a bit
start slow and speed up if things work out
or start big and hope for the moon

Not sure I follow you, a whitelabel solution includes the script, you just have to change the colour scheme to suit your needs.

Infact, after reading this thread last night, I went and signed up for a aff type site. Cost $8 domain name.

You don't need to pay for a script with a whitelabel, it is a partnership program, where they host the site, it backends onto their DB, they look after the credit card transactions and everything... This leaves you to concentrate on promotion, links, search engines etc...

I am not promoting anything, I just provide links to consider and there is nothing to trust or not trust. And the fact that ilook spends so much time and efforts marking all posts about the software with hysterical shrills and red color tells about the fact that he is paid well for that. The problem is he is not professional flooder and even can not provide any bug lists, which he states are present in the script.
