Note: If this goes against some rule im sorry, I didnt found anithing against it I think I found an Some Adult keyword niches, And I'm thinking if I should go on or not. I would like to know if there is people around here with this kind of websites and they can tell me how I should be protecting myself from the law etc if I decide to go on. If people don't wnat to post its ok, just PM me and well keep the conversation private. Also Anyone with experience with adult affiliates or content providers?
relax, no 1 is going to jump on your back. The fact is, most of us just don't particpate in this sort of thing.
I have once tried adult and registered at adultrevenueservices.com I don't believe in doing adult themed sites though ... just thought I give some input
adult sites are infamous for trojans and dailers and all kinds of BS, that's partly why we stay away...And what, are you going to produce your own content , or are you going to link farm, or are you going to write 'adult articles'.
OK I need to say it again: I do not believe in doing adult ... I think it's wrong. Think again before you get into it. If you sleep with dogs, you get flees and you will not be happy
Yup, I have received several offers of people selling me their adult sites. Right now there is a guy that wants to sell me one that gets over 8,000 uniques per day. But I just can't convince myself of entering that world.... I have no idea of how to manage an adult site or how to get profit from it, and I really don't feel like learning it now. Maybe if I was a horny teenager...
Personally, I don't have any problem with doing adult stuff.... It's just a job afterall... Anyway, It's a pretty tricky market to get involved with... Some really strange rules for submitting to most of the TGP's and so on... Trust me, adult will take up a lot more of your time trying to optimise it... Getting links can be really hard, and one of the only ways I could think of building hundreds of targetted pages for the large number of searched terms, was cloaking - which makes it even harder to get links... (So I hear) I would give it some serious thought before attempting to break in on that market - you might end up missing the sunlight
if I would build adult site I will make it clean (no popups, activex and etc.). I myself dont go to site that have spawning popups, it so annoying! (thanks theres my Alt+F4 ) Good membership fee for a good content is win win situation.
I don't have any problems with this business.. The most important thing is not to enter the popup and active x laden side of the business. Find a niche and build your site as you would build a mainstream site. Adult sites are not for everyone. The mistake most people make is thinking they can challenge the high-traffic sites, by copying their techniques (such as popup, popunders, diallers etc..) Build your own niche within this area, and stick to it... don't forget that If you go down the picture or paysite route of the adult industry you will have a massive fight on your hands with hotlinkers and bandwidth theft.. Good luck, whichever niche you choose...
Thanks, I think I'm Worried about legal implications. Im going to research a little more on the niche and geed a good adult webhost and see what happens
Before you do anything consider how you're going to monetize the site. At the end of day, you want someone else doing the work for you. Moreover, you don't want to be managing content. This leaves you with a number of options, mainly affiliate content. When all's said and done, it can be quite boring.. just another site believe it or not Good luck Cheers, JL
It's time for me to chime in on this conversation. I spent some time in the adult side of the 'net (Similiar thread) and I have to say that it is totally your call. But if you were my child seeking the same advice, I would share a couple of my experiences and hope that I raised a child wiser than their father.
k- I own an adult website through another company called yourpaysite.com. They have an 800# for me to call anytime I need them. I haven't seen a profit yet, but my site has only been up for 3 days. I got 42 hits yesterday. it's a good business if you stay objective.
I really wish I could agree with you about it being a good business, but it's BAD business. Run, Forrest, run!
Legal implications, you get your content from Company X and there is one bit of illegal stuff, you can be held liable for the content. Not only this, but according to US law anyway I believe it's Section 1827, you must keep proof over age of all models on your site and be able to provide them to any authorities within 48 hours of the request. Like I stated before all it takes is one underage person on the site to get you arrested. Other implications can be a shady content seller who sells you the content then sues you for copyright violations. If you are dead set on doing this my suggestion would be to start your own photography and only put up content you create, when you do a photoshot, make absolutely sure you get copies of birth certificates and drivers liscenses and also make sure the models sign the proper release forms. As others have said though, You lie with dogs and the fleas are soon to follow, it's a rough business with ungodly amounts of competition. Just be very very very very careful who you partner with, it can mean the difference between making money and sitting in prison for trafficing illegal materials.
There's a lot of legal implications regarding the adult market at the moment, especailly in the US. I don't have a problem with adault sites at all, though I'd think twice about starting up a site that displays graphic images without a handy lawyer. If you still want to go down this route do some reading up on US Code 2257 rules and get some legal advice.
Not if it's affiliate content. Yuo still need to display a 1827 statement, but If it's from a reputable source, I'd be amazed if you EVER got in trouble for it.
