If you want to open your directory for tastefull and no spammy sexual sites a sexuality category is sufficent. An adult category will draw attention to the porn spammers that will ruin your site if you start accepting them. My 5 cents
I think the correct phrase is 'And that's my 2 cents'. I would open your doors to the porn sites but make them pay say £5 every 3 months to be in it. Then you don't get any of those rubbish ones that just steal content.
I see no problem with it, but if you are going to make them pay then make all pay as this wouldnt be fair to those that have quality adult links and wishing to add to your directory. Family friendly sites are great but adult sites are a part of life and i have no problem adding if they found the right catagory. thx malcolm
I think this is really a myth I don’t see any problem accepting quality sites adult or gambling, the thing that trashes your directory and the user experience is accepting MFA and low quality with no content sites.
I think its a good idea, I accpet adult website, and this makes a lot of the users come back to the directory.
Adult sites are what a loot of people are looking for! So you will probably get some visitors looking for it.
yes and since ive built mine ive seen atleast 10 new ones pop up so... its for a reason and thats because sex sells. thx malcolm
Search engines want to give people what they are looking for the adult and gambling being a bad sites to link is just a myth. You are your spiritual leader Malcolm, We follow your footsteps...
Google,Dmoz,Yahoo,MSN all have adult stuff. So why not, I aint the pope. But I can only allow good stuff worth bookmarking (not that I bookmark smuts or anything)
It's not really a myth. I have reported one big major site in SEO industry got banned from Yahoo Dir just because of few adult links. I am bad I think adding adult category in a general dir is a lot of risk unless you run an adult dir.
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Sex/ http://dmoz.org/Adult/ http://botw.org/top/Adult/ LOL
If you run a non-adult site, better not to have an adult link. That will get yours banned pretty quick. I really don't suggest to add an adult category in a general directory. It doesn't make sense to me.
Send me info or where i can find an "authority site" to confirm. Other than that you are spreading rumors with no "FACTS or PROOF http://www.biz-king.com/Society/Sexuality/ http://www.sleekdirectory.com/Society/Sexuality/ These catagories have been up since the very begining and google LOVES them as my sites are indexed to the hill. I guess will find out what kind of PR they get soon enough...... PR5-6 is were its at. thx malcolm
Just out of curiosity - how would you determine if an adult site is a "quality" site worthy of listing in a directory?
I check all adult sites that come in for... Good content,Grammer,Catagory chosen, as well as how much nudity it actually has. If I feel the site is worthy of recognition its added to my directories. thx malcolm
I'll just have to second this and ask also " How would someone review an adult listing if its really worth a listing." Are clean pasted photo Gallery enough to warrant a listing ? If you have a directory are your directory compliant with COPPA ? I have seen some directories with adult categories and I was just surprised. Thanks
I guess you haven't seen such sites yet then. Google isn't perfect to catch all the sites, penalizing in a timely manner. That's why black hat techniques still work to get ranked high - for a short period of time. Just let it be my opinion then?
