Got some questions about adult domain names. I've been searching for available domain names as I've heard of some people who have managed to sell them for quite a bit of money. I have never been involved in buying & selling domains before or domain speculation so this would be my 1st time. I wanted to check out how much some available domains would be worth on http://www.LeapFish.com as they offer a free automatic domain appraisal on their site. I found out about their sitefrom an email from one of the big internet marketers before (can't remember which one) that LeapFish does offer a pretty accurate automatic appraisal on their website. To my suprise, a few domains was appraised about $1k-$3k in value. 1. Anyone has experience with LeapFish's online appraisals & how accurate do you think they are? 2. Some of the domains that were valued high by them, when looking at Alexa's Wayback Machine http://web.archive.org, said those domains were established around the years 1999-2002 & were developed before. Does that make the domain worth more because of the age? 3. If these domains are supposedly worth aroung the $X,XXX mark, why would people just let their domains expire? 4. What is your opinion on adult domains that all dot coms, consisting of 3 words,14-18 characters long, with hypens in between, examples XXX-YYYZZZ.com & XXX-YYY-ZZZ.com
Leapfish only gets you info on the domain.. Disregard any price measurements they might propose.. Also this is the 10th leapfish thread in the last 30 days.. Try the search function on DP and see what people have to say about it..
I have a feeling that someone is trying to promote leapfish in forums Leapfish is a marketing thing to advertise their human appraisal services together with many other web related services Disregard it completely. It's only for fun. Some bit the bate that their domain worth much and interested exactly how much ordering human appraisals Price estimation is not an easy task and it will never be done automatically Domain Names Info from the search engines is a traffic factor but the name can't be judged with this alone Old domains cost more because it looks like the engines like them a little bit more
