AdSenseChat.com the forum dedicated to Google AdSense is now dead and is redirecting to the book about adsense that Joel Comm wrote years ago. AdSenseChat was a good place for informations and tips on adsense, but for about a year it was polluted with spam, and the admin team didn't do anything about it, so the old timers left one by one. At the end, the content of the forum was only spam and questions from real real newbies, like review my site (an out-of-the-box blogspot account with copied&pasted content) requests, and not much more. So Joel decided to terminate the forum instead of updating the forum and install anti spam features. It was a good forum, but thanksfully the adsense part of DP is very good too. RIP AdSenseChat
Strange but i still can see a forum Edit Oops suddenly it redirected me but i still could see the forum for sometime
Yes you can still see it, because they used a javascript or meta refresh redirection, my wild guess is that if they do a htaccess redirect like 301, google will slowly desindex the adsensechat content, but by using a client-side redirect, the adsensechat traffic from google will stay much longer and so joel comm will bring more traffic to his ebook. But the result is the same, adsensechat is dead
I think he is too busy with his real live business and instead delete the space ,I think what he does is to give newbie time to learn what means of "spam to learn the honest"
i dont believe in joel comm, my friend says his account is banned with adsense? and his forum is down.
there is a mixed reaction on joel comm some say he is legit some dont agree..So we cant totally say what he actually is
I was an admin/moderator there. I got sick and tired of the bombardment of spam. One day I visited the site and almost every sub-forum had the first page of each filled with spam. That was enough for me. All that needed to be done was plug in a better spam filter to cut out the bot member sign ups. So I made a post saying I was leaving, which I was. Within a few days Joel posted (after not having been there in 6+ months). Within a week it was redirecting to his sales page. A shame really. While DigitalPoint is a fantastic forum, AdsenseChat was also good. It was smaller, more intimate, and there was a sense of camaraderie when we'd bash the dumb newbs who would openly ask for people to click their Adsense ads. It was less overwhelming than DP. I think it was a good startpoint for newbies. I answered a lot of questions on the forum and also when people would PM me, and when some were off-topic (from Adsense stuff) I'd answer to the best of my ability (or tell them I didn't know) and if appropriate, would tell them to sign up at DigitalPoint.
Joel Comm made his money from his book, and having people buy his other products after reading his book... His hidden motto is to read the book (to learn) and then buy the products (to make money)
And I don't believe in the Easter Bunny. But I am most definitely NOT banned from Google AdSense. And the forum is down because I took it down. I appreciate the moderators' involvement over the years, but I didn't have any time to work on the site. We've got too many other projects that are profitable to focus on a single membership site. This is actually a lesson in knowing when to move on and not getting emotionally attached to a website. It doesn't make sense to time, resources and manpower to a project when it isn't making money or there are better uses of the same time, resources and manpower. So I shut it down and am redirecting traffic to my free AdSense ebook. Well, the ones who don't agree are just misinformed. I guess people will say whatever tickles their ears. I'm glad our members have a place to go in DP. Joel
I have a "hidden" motto? Gee, I love it when people presume to know me. My motto isn't hidden. It's in all my emails. Here it is... "Do good stuff" Whatever you do, make it good. Whoever's lives you touch, bring value to them. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Do good stuff. Now I need to go figure out a hidden motto... hmmm, I'd tell you what I come up with, but then it wouldn't be hidden anymore. ;-) Joel P.S. - nice to see you are banned. Welcome to DP
