I've read something about adsense not liking when people sell text links? Does that mean they'll ban me if i sell text link ads?

    www.tutorialmaterials.com

Will be placed under the long ad between content/nav if that helps.

To my knowledge nobody has been banned. They did kill the PR on a lot of sites that sold (and many that didn't sell) paid links. It's not about directly about adsense however.

Adsense TOS is only against you using other contextual advertising network banners that look similar to adsense ad units.

Research the risk and rewards of using any paid links, either selling them on your site or paying for links on other sites. Google and others can easily spot them and discount them, if it's for direct human traffic it might be worth it but read Google's blogs on the subject first and use nofollow tags and whatever they suggest before using paid links. I'd be very cautious.

TLA is really good. I just started using them. Go a head, add because I added to my site with adsense.
