Adsense weird Ads Unit Format

    Ok is there something I am not getting here? I thought that we could have 3 ad units per page and that the maximum amount of text link possible in and ad unit is 5. If that the case how do you explain this?

    8 links in a medium rectangle
    11 links in a skyscraper

    ????
