Adsense warning

Recently i reecived warning mail from adsense team that ads are violating TOS on my forum site.

    Points mentiuoned by them:

1 - Publishers may not implement Google ads in a manner that disguises the ads in any way, for instance, by formatting neighboring content to look similar to the ads, or by making ads look like forum threads.

2 - Additionally, publishers may not attempt to associate specific images with the individual ads appearing on their sites. Such an implementation may confuse users who assume that the image is directly related to the advertiser's offerings.

Now the second point seems to be ok as google is no more considerring images near ad as correct.

However as give in first point that "making ads look like forum threads" - Does it means that ads can't come between forum posts?

Does the google ad that comes between posts (after first post) at dp forum is also invalid?

My forum also has ads(link unit ads) that comes after first post only.

Its 4 days that i sent then few mails asking for clarification but no one from thei side seems to make any clarification on this and they have already disabled ad on one of the site.

Anyone else is also facing this issue?

Why don't you give us the URL and we may be able to pinpoint the violating ads

THis sounds like trying to deceive people into clicking the ads with them thinking they are links onyour site. A similar thing happens on alot of arcade/entertainment sites. Google is getting a lot more strict on this.

Hold on - if you make ads look like forum threads does that not mean you are blending them well? I thought this was the number one AdSense strategy for getting more clicks. Google are getting too big for their own boots - they are needlessly meddling with the way publishers arrange their webpages. The quicker YPN is global the better.

As for their slow reply, I saw mention somewhere that the AdSense support team had Monday off--- and expected to be a bit slow in getting back to folks. :)

I think there is a limit to 3 ads on one site. Maybe there is a problem with 4th ad (a Link Unit) on the bottom of the page. Otherwise I cannot say what would be wrong.

I cannot see a problem with your placement.
littlebobek, you can have 3 ad blocks, 1 link unit and a search box on the same page, no problems.
Good luck with it, I hope they get back to you soon.

As told by google that :

    >>by formatting neighboring content to look similar to the ads, or by making ads look like forum threads.

I think they don't want publishers to put adense between forum threads.

Most probabaly sooner or later they will send this warning to all publishers..

The just want to safeguard the interests of the whole adsense program and want to increase the level of coonversion or people that are genuinely interested in the ad. However, if people are contantly deceiving (i.e. blending to perfection) then this will obviously lead to a lot of clicks that are unintended.

Did they give you a warning on the ads on that site? or was it on a different forum? The one you have given us seems ok to me

Google is trying to do away with the clicks where the users are fooled into thinking they are going to another area of your site. The advertisers are complaining about extremely low conversions and as someone that uses adwords I can't blame them.

YPN is already doing the same thing but you don't hear about much about it because it is on a much smaller scale.

I have received reply from adsense team today:

    >>You may feel free to place ads in forum threads as implemented on the link you've provided. However, please be sure your >>implementation does not violation any of our policies. Policies that are often a concern for implementations similar to the >>example that you've provided are our policies regarding labelling the ads, placing images near ads, and encouraging users >>to click on ads.

So conclusion is that we can place ads between forum threads.
There main concern is that there shall be no images adjacent to google ads.
