I reported earlier that I was tired of wasting my time with adsense. I get about 4000 views a day and was only getting about 4 cents per click. The ads being served were either from foriegn countries or MFAs. Total waste of my website space. I took most of the adsense ads off and replaced them with affiliate programs that fit my site. Those that don't produce within 30 days will be gone too. I have decided that I am in charge of my website, not adsense, yahoo or anyone else. If I don't make any money, they are gone. In Feb I only made $28.73 with adsense. So far, in one week I have made $87.17 with the affiliates. People are actually clicking on them as they don't look like adsense ads. I will keep looking for affiliates that fit my site and will probably take the rest of the adsense ads off my site. Google may be big, but if we all put our foot down, things might change, but I doubt it. I am sure my leaving isn't going to keep them up at night, but I am a lot happier.
Working directly with affiliates cuts out the middle man. Plus, you get more flexibility with your ads.
Of course affiliates ads work much better than adsense, google isn't everything, but it also depends on your niche.
yup, affiliates are an excellent source of revenue. better than adsense usually, it just depends on your niche.
I am using Ebay with horse links and other horse related sites. I have found over the years, that some affiliate sites never pay, so take them off if no income within 30 days. I don't use linkshare as they never pay out. It sure is funny that when I remove an affiliate I get emails begging for me to put them back on. I didn't make any money, but they must have. My goal is to make $100 per day.
