In the dating world this will go over about as well as the referral program... like a lead balloon. Player is way to big and people will not pay attention to the ads. I have a video that has had 18,000 views in the first month. Can I somehow get credit for ads displaying when my own youtube video is watched?
Adsense video units team says: "For now, it's only available to U.S. publishers with English language preference. Also, it's not live yet, so check back in your AdSense account later today."
interesting since thousands of blogs and other sites do this all day long..... youtube publishers have the option to not allow their videos to be embedded.....
Yeah, I also thought that we might get like 0.000001cent/ Youtube video viewed, but instead it's just revenue made of clicks above the Youtube video (standard Google content ads). I still haven't seen any revenue but have gotten a lot of impressions... 6 more days!
true, and in fact google even encourages it to some extent... but there have also been several people out here with youtube scraping sites that have been banned for doing it. not relevant to copyright law, not relevant the terms of service that the copyright owner agreed to, and not relevant to the tos that adsense publishers agreed to when they signed up. when you start trying to make a profit off of stolen content, it becomes a whole new ballgame.
This is pretty interesting. I'm testing it out on some of my sites now. I like the way they are doing it... It certainly kicks the crap out of AdBrite's InVideo which I was attempting to use. It's also interesting from the stand point of people who make YouTube videos... I wonder if that Chris Crocker guy can get rich off of this?
I think for text ads you will earn more than video ads. anyway can you tell me how much you are earning from video units.
I would have thought they would have gone with some decent videos, it seems to be about six going around at random. As I said before, in the present format this is garbage.
Ok I put it on one of my high traffic sites tonight. It doesnt look like it will make money though compared to text ads where they can just click the ad. Why would they click an ad while watching a video? They'll think theyre gonna lose the video and goto the ad page. Unless you have a video oriented site I can't see this making anywhere near what text ads do. Anybody got results yet on what theyre making?
What's weird is after upgrading my account to it, it appears to have reset Adsense's ability to remember what the normal adsnese ads are supposed to display. I'm now getting only site targeted ads, not the page ads.... weird.
