I'v been reading threads about what ads pay most, some say video ads pay the most. So now, so many webmasters are setting there ads for image ads only.

You could be makeing a big mistake if you do this.
Google automatically shows the highest paying ads no matter what. That's how they make the most money.

The smart way to set your ads is on text and image ads to do this don't change anything Google uses this as a defult anyway because they want to get paid the most they can.

If the image ad is paying more than all the text ads Google will display the image ad. If a video ad is paying more, they display video ads. When the text ads are paying more they show them. If you choose only one or the other you could be cutting your own profit down, because if you choose say Text ads only and the highest paying text ad was only 42 cents, but there was a image ad that was paying 83 cents you just missed out on more money, if you would have got the click on the image ad.

So now that you know, leave text and image ads as your choice. You will then be making the most you can make with Google. :)

However, what I've seen, all too often, is that the image or video ad is completely irrelevant to the site's theme. While text ads on a skin care site might be very well targeted, a video for Cadillacs will appear suddenly and trump everything. I doubt that someone who's alarmed after just noticing more horrors of aging skin is magically transformed into a Cadillac enthusiast. On second thought, maybe they'd click it just to get rid of the annoyance.

you did not think of the ctr , is worthless to pus an ad that pays much if nobody clicks on it.

I think everyone should experiment and figure out what is right for them....
I used the image ad on a site recently and it gets great ctr....almost triple what text ads were getting....the video ads are not always targeted but they attract attention and get clicked a whole lot more...

I did a few comparisons on my dating site and I have found that the image and some video ads are just inappropriate for my dating site, but the text ads are spot on. I know that I would like to make money, but pleasing my visitors is on top of the list for me because without them, I would not be making any money!

I have a website that was earning. about $0.05 / click. One day (without changing anything or had more visitors) the average was $0.70 / click!!! I found out that my website was displaying image ads. :)

you can't choose google video ads... just make the ad block for image only, as others told you.

i think that video ads require two clicks for you to get paid, not one click like text ads(??)

video ads earn less for me, i make more off of just text blocks.

To allow video ads you must allow text and image ads or just image ads.
The video ads will appear when they are available, as long as you allow image ads.

Video ads aren't always available, and they're not always the highest paying ads. ;)
