Adsense versus Kontera

    Hello everyone,

I signed up for Kontera last month and now I have Kontera and adsense side by side on my webpages, but I have noticed my adsense revenue dropped significantly after I installed Kontera. Is this something usual? I would like to hear from you who is using both Kontera and adsense.

I'm not using either at the moment, but I have heard of the "adsense drop" when another advertiser is added. There have been a bunch of threads on this, but I think the general consensus is that you should just use one (and my vote goes to adsense)!

well the drop is expected since people clicking on kontera is taking your traffic away. But are you seeing overall revenue increase ?

For me, kontera doesn't drop my adsense earning.

I've used both in the past, but I only use AdSense now. I used Kontera for a few months and was generally happy with my earnings from them, but the ads often were not relevant to my site content, so I removed them. I may come back to using Kontera again, but on my site, many pages often didn't have more than a few paragraphs of text, and so when I used both Kontera and AdSense, it often looked like it was just too much advertising and I was afraid it would scare away users. Some days I wouldn't get more than a few cents from Kontera, though some days I'd make as much as a few dollars, so Kontera can be a nice earner.

Remember that you can work with your Kontera representative to adjust the number of links and the color of them on your site, so send them an email to optimize how it looks on your site.

I never used kontera but based on my observation it gives unrelated ads for your site...unlike with adsense you can choose the proper ads for your site depending on your chosen category.

    Hello everyone,

nice to read this discussion :)
Kontera ContentLinks are contextual ad units. They are made to match each selected keyword with the most relevant ad. If your experience has been different, it's something we should look into and I'd like to hear more.
Regarding the display of Adsense and ContentLinks on the same page, it is a combination that a large percentage of our publishers utilize successfully. The ads compliment eachother to give a nice boost to earnings. Read about it here.
