good idea I've been doing my own trick on a forum I have in which the banner is actually an image ad and by natural instinct many users click the banner thinking it'll bring them to the home page according to the default banners at many forums.

I am doing 200x200 besides 200x200 because that is all the space I have. And then on another website I am doing 250x250 next to 250x250. We will see how they do.

I have done something similar to this on one of my sites and have a pretty decent CTR with it. I was worried about google's TOS but after reading quite a bit I do not believe it is against their TOS.
Then again google seems to do whatever they want with adsense accounts, I'll see when I hit the $100 mark if they decide they want to pay out...from what I've read usually not. It'd be interesting to see how much income google makes by dropping adsense accounts before payout.

The skyscrapers for me look more like ads so I tend to leave them out. Less is more in my eyes.

it was part of their(google) advice for optimization...

    http://adsense.blogspot.com/2005/10/six-adsense-optimization-tips-for.html

    based on their tip

    2. Display your ad units where repeat users will notice them.

So this is the way how to put google ads in forums...

I found that all web visitors open some pages...

and at the page where users usually see items is on the top...

    then place ads there...

when the page loads the first thing to display is the title and the mid portion of the web page..

    see some ads placement

my tip is not to boost clicks...

proper ad placement is my tip, i just found similar ad placement simmilar as the author of this tread..

i cannot resize the immage can you teach me to resize this one?

I found a site using the ad placement

Alot of people know about this placement, its all about testing. You can try it with two text ads or two image ads but i receive more clicks when text to left and ad to the right.
