what google does with their ads does not give you carte blanche to break the google tos.

and there are many violations of the google tos running on the 'net, but that's no guarantee of their future security :)

I received email from google few days ago where they requested that I remove images near the adds.
To be honest, my adsense was perfectly blended on site with those images, and I am sure that many people clicked on it not knowing its add.

I have asked them can I keep images if I change color of my ad unit, so it look completelly different from my site, because when removed images, that area on my site looked pretty ugly, but they said I have to remove images even in that case.

They also said that images near adds are not forbidden by default, but if they are to wll blended with site, than thats a problem.

So I have removed almost completelly adsense from that site, because low serving adds make it look pretty ugly.

Ill try with CJ and Chitika for few days, but this crashed me pretty.

That's rather interesting that there is no "official" policy on it, but rather a case-by-case decision.
Did they even mention anything about putting a border between the ads and the images?

    In my case, no.
I have told them I will change ad unit color, add add unit border in completelly different color than site is, but they said - sugar baby, no.

Very untrue - I've got a content-rich site that brings me $800 - $1000 per month, as long as I refresh it with new content.

You've just got to choose the proper content. Don't think "what will make money" first, think about what you have a passion to write about, and THEN check to see which ones have profitable adwords.

"bid for place in content ads"? How is that different from how things were done before?

"new day parting"??? What meaning are you trying to tell us?

I have one site that I have big passion for, and it's my main site. It brings crappy income. And my other site, which is completely neglected, brings a lot more money. Unfair.

Without content, you won't make $$ especially in the long term. Remember that as time passes search engines and users become smarter.

Content Ad Network on Google did not allow bidding for position till recently.

    Day parting....how to explain?

If you are a rock and roll guitar maker...and you want to use Google Adwords to advertise.

The old method you would advertise 24 hours a day but most rock musicians play or practice late at night and sleep in during the morning so advertising the guitars for sale at these times is senseless since the target market is at work or sleep... so by setting times this manufacturer can cut down on non buying clicks, save their daily budget for the best times to find the target, increase CTR & conversion to sales, by not running ads at other times when the target is not available but the competitors are.

    Hope it helps.

    WRONG

Examples of sites making $xx,xxx.00 monthly without much content whatsoever. The first one is actually doing $xxx,xxx.00 monthly the other is a Google Adsense case study website.

My Freelancer web site has no actual content, but I am making some money from it. The data that drives the site is updated automatically 4 times per day, so people come back time and time again. The trick is convincing AdSense to show ads relevent to the visitors.

Still need the day job though :(

Yes, it's possible to have a site that gets thousands of visitors, has perfectly relevant ads that are well placed and blended, and have poor CTR -- because the site is too good for Adsense. It completely satisfies visitors and gives them everything they came for. They get what they came for and leave, never to click on an ad. A good Adsense site leaves visitors a little hungry or curious for more, which makes them click on ads.

I don't believe that one. It used to have content, now it only has paid search engine links? Zero page rank? No links according to Google - not even those on this board? Exactly how are people finding that page, anyway?

I think POF is just a puffer fish, trying to look bigger than it actually is.

    Correct URL

    http://www.plentyoffish.com/

    forgot that second f

    :D

He used to rank in the upper results for a term many would love to be near

    'online dating'

now I think hes fallen off a bit and as a result, probably too his income, as traffic has fallen off, if rankings continued to drop.

I was looking through your site and you've got a typo in the title of your ad blending page

    Bending ads...
