I agree on focus - I've always believed that serving a rabid niche market produces real results. Niche markets appreciate quality content. And yeah, my AdSense dollars have been inexplicably lower recently, about 20% lower. Must be that "update". I'm considering Yahoo for a new site.
What hasn't worked fro me are image ads users seem to not trust these. And it's to be expected since they've beent4ricked by ads like these all these years before Google Adsense showed up. Thank You
What hasn't worked for me: 1) Overloading the page with more than 2 add blocks 2) Attempting to get a high CTR from long content-rich pages
I'm beginning to believe that only MFA sites are what is making the biggest amount of money and that having an actual site with decent content is nothing more than a dream of earning a decent amount of change with AdSense.
Part of the fallout in earnings is the new ability to bid for place in content ads placement as well as the new day parting which curbs advertiser spending further thereby reducing adsense revenues generated. Hope it helps..
Sem-Advance- It's been discussed on every forum worth it's weight that focuses on the Adsense program. Didn't mean to rufflle your feathers- just pointing out that a website admin that serves the purpose of giving others advice on placement of ads should probably be aware of this. Here is one of MANY such investigations into the matter- http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=72536 It may not be on the policies page, but it does become a question of whether you want to mislead people into clicking at that point. Google offers their publishers (us) the option to make money with their program. They also happen to NOT like images around these ads without a border seperating them. What you do with yours is your business, just pointed out what has been beat to death here, there and everywhere after Google was in fact asked what they feel about the matter. From your site: You gotta be freakin kidding me. HAHA
Claymation Not ruffling any feathers.....life is too good to get ruffled feathers over. Anyway I simply teach what is stated in their policies & procedures. As for the borders issues....I dont see where you are lost...people click the organic results 65% of the time because they do not like paid ads....people will switch channels on the television rather than watch a paid ad and it is a known fact Google Image Ads do not convert very well. And Google Image Ads are the 'true' reason Google does not want images near their ads...nothing to do with the users wants or needs...all money oriented!! Peace
I'm not sure where you are lost on the issue. This response is straight from Google! Like I stated- do what you want. I'm not arguing the merits of borders vs. no borders. It's currently a grey area, and Big G prefers that we seperate OUR images from their ads with a border. Nothing more to say about it, really. Maybe they will make it policy, maybe they won't. If you are/were an advertiser in Adwords (the ones paying you, essentially) would you like to see your ad for "blue widgets" accompanied by an image that some webmaster chose to stick there? I'll try to stay on their good side for any of those nagging discrepancies that potentially pop up from time to time. You state: We know for a fact they are a GOOD idea when attempting to increase your good standing with Google. Oh- and thanks for that insightful response Munna......HAHA
Lets see I have an Adwords rep, Adsense Rep and now a Google Checkout Rep. However no Google Seal of USS&B on my butt though.... I also own the domain toolsforadsense.com which at one time was online and running google adsense ads (Its coming back with Yahoo ads!!) and when Google found it 4 months later they only stopped serving ads on that one site and sent me a letter to get off their brand name. They did not ban me or my account nor take action against the other 10 or 20 sites I run. So I guess I am still in good standing and the real reason I responded...I doubt that the use of a border around ads will give one a higher standing with Google, than another who does not use them. That is just a tad overboard.....
Yes this is true but this is also the beauty of the entrepreneurial spirit and why this is known as the information age. The effective packaging and distribution of information is and always will be, a viable revenue generating industry, due to human natures' inherent laziness, which allows us to push the information to the user and earn revenues through such, when they in fact could find the information on their own usually free of charge. If you listen to the radio there is a new tea on the market known as white tea here in the US. The ad has a an American speaking man in what appears to be China (Background Asian music) asking a tea farmer where white tea comes from. The Chinese man explains white tea is baby tea leaves basically. The American speaking man says "I came all the way here for that?" The Chinese man says: "You can look this stuff up on the Internet" So as you can see though there are resources people could get for free they are lazy enough to pay someone else to present it to them. Peace
Right but this forums is not enough there is a lot of places to get more skills then you can share them here, this forums is only a house where we meet and share what we did or learned from other places . don't surf with limitation , Sh33rs
I was redesigning one of my sites and by mistake inserted new ad "Text & Images". Over the next two weeks my income went down about 30% which is highly unusual. Ive noticed that sometimes I would get image instead of text. So I went to adsense and re-generated new adsense code with "Text only". Starting the next day my income went up, and haven't fallen off so far.
Google is experimenting with images incorporated into their ads and there are no borders distinguishing their images from the ads. So I think they have relaxed that rule. I have images near my ads and I have not heard from google.
