hello, i'm over the age of 18 and running adsense on my site.

question: i haven't filledout adsense w-9 forum as of feb. of this year, am receiving checks from adsense every month and they show no tax deduction! i'm in USA. i don't have alot of money on adsense. question is when they will start to require me to fill out the w-9 and start to deduct money from my pay. do you have to make certain amount each month or have to exceed certain thousands of dollars before the deduct tax, and social, and medicate taxes. i don't collect taxes at the end of the year, so can i just not file for taxes with adsense! i also e-mailed them about this and haven't got a reply in a week. so decided to ask you guy to get an heads up.

EDIT:spidey well i still don't ahve my answers, please help with bleow info!

can some one please answer my question..this is a repost. thanks

well, i'm unmaried, no childeran and a full time student! when i used t work locally, i put down exempt from federal and state taxes, but had to pay social ad medicate. does that help. can i still do that or not. how is that a benifit or gonna hurt me in long run. i'm sure some rules do apply differnet with online, then working for someone locally. the only forum i see is W-9

    -thanks

    thank you for any help!

Google will not deduct money for taxes from what they pay you.. you, as an independant contractor are responsible for paying taxes on your additional income.

You must pay taxes on all income in the USA. You will owe the state and federal goverment. You should contact a CPA.

You're going to be hurting come April 08 just like I was hurting in April of this year. You have to file taxes, well you can not file it and risk going to jail. Anyways if you don't have taxes being deducted you're going to owe uncle sammy somewhere around 40%. I'm assuming you're not married and still live with your parents? I would start putting money aside now to make up for the 10 months of no taxes.

40%???? Where did you come up with that? At $5K a month the bracket overall would hit you less than 30% and the percentage decreases the lower the income goes.

It's around 30 % but you will have to pay an extra self employment tax of 10%...

Well as a rule of thumb I like to go with 40%. It's hard to say what he will owe seeing how we don't have any of his info. 40% though will more then cover him though for state, federal and city if he even has to pay city.

30% for $5K/month is counting the SE tax.

Thank goodness I don't have to deal with that...no state tax either so yes I suppose in other states with a tax that percentage would be higher.

How much is not a lot? If you're under $400 (doubt it, though, since you said you get a check each month!) then no tax is paid.

I doubt that yor tax rate will exceed 15% Fed and 15% fica. The fica is fixed and the fed can be zero.

How much income from all sources do you expect for the year?

I ran a projection for another person who expected to make 8K adsense only, no other income. He owed no Fed tax and about $1200 in fica.

Of course the state and local leeches might bite your butt also.

Can't unless you answer a few of ours...how much is the income? You WILL end up paying taxes since you get a check every month. As I said above, that means you are making more than $400 for the year which means you HAVE to file under Self-Employment. How much you will end up paying we can't say unless we have more details.

And no one Google included is going to withhold on 1099 earnings. You are in business and must file and pay what you owe. You are a big boy now.

Now, if you want advice ask questions.
