Aloha, I have a non-english site about astrology (oh no, my excuse is that it was a niche without that much competition...). For the last three months or so it has been monetarized by AdSense, but the CPC stinks (around 5c/click). Any ideas how I can monetarize it more effectively? I have been thinking about changing the text on the site, so the ads will target something else than astrology. Any idea what astro-freaks might be interested in besides seeing if Mars is angry about Jupiter's behaviour last night?
You can use affiliate programs for your site. I would think visitors to an astrology site would be interested in stuff like telescopes, informational books about planets, and also some paranormal/mystic stuff etc. If you want to make more money with adsense, it is probably best to create a different site with better paying keywords.
.05/click is not all that bad for adsense! I have many (many, many) pages that average less than this. try increasing your traffic with some SEO, marketing, etc.. More traffic = more $ you could also try some affilliate stuff related astrology..
I think it might be your language. Click from Visitors from certain countries get lower price. So I think it's better to do your site in English to cater the english speaking audience. I think that can make you get higher EPC.
