Adsense: still trustworthy?

On my website i have 300+ page-views and just a single click. How is that possible?
Can anyone tell me if Google adsense is not trustworthy anymore.
Even if i have the poorest positioning of ads i don't think i should not have up to at least 5 clicks.
    Pls clarify this..........Anybody?

You may not have a good Ad placement. Try to optimize your ads placement.

With a CTR of 0.33% that's what you will get, one click for 300 ad impressions..

My ad is placed just below the title of my post. I don't think this is out of place.
Kindly tell how best it is to place ads. You can possibly give me an example website.
    Thanks

Adsense is still trustworthy. Optimized ad placement is important, so don't say that even with poorest placement you will get 5 clicks. If people don't see your ads they won't click. I know this from experience.

It's not only ad placement, otherwise life would be easy. It's also origin of traffic and relevancy of the ads for your topic and the location of visitors.

Unfortunately, even if you do get a lot of traffic to your site, doesn't mean that a good proportion of them will actually click on an ad. Like dumindushalika said: it might have something to do with your ad placement. If you google "best place to put adsense" you can get a lot of ideas. Take some time to test different placement methods and see which present the best results.

I read an article from bloggersentral.com and it advised to place ads around the beginning of the post. I did this and also blended my ads with the format of my post. I mean the ads links blends with my post links and the same for post text. I see no reason why they shouldn't be clicked.
I also have ads on the side bar of my post.
Have a look at the website and tell me where the problem is. www.jobnetworknigeria.com
Note on the homepage i have ads only on the sidebar but on the individual posts i have them on both side bar and below post title.

how many advertizers are paying for jobs ads in nigeria? Probably not a lot, which means all ads are not related to your site topic when your visitors come to your site. So they're not willing to click on unrelated ads.

Other job sites like mine have testimonies on how good their adsense is doing. But their ads are not better positioned as mine.
I believe ads served by Google are very relevant to the post.
I dont want to believe that Google dont serve relevant ads.
I have seen the ads myself and i believe they are well served for the post.
So do you see any other problems?

Well for a start you could try switching right column to left, and left column to right..
Also take care because adsense right below the title fall under the unproper labelling of ads..
I know many other sites are doing it, please don't start on this, I don't want to argue about that..

search adsense policies about labelling of ads..
Labelling means having a text above the ads. In this case all your post titles are just above the ads..
If you have something in between it's fine, otherwise it can be seen as labelling, that's all I'm saying, end of story. You can keep it like that, no problem (for me).

Try to use same Title color for your all ads which is in sidebar and between posts.

It is a pity to you , you got huge traffic, but one click
There are many possible why user click one click.
    1. position and size your ads.
    2. the low potential traffic.
