Adsense Stats vs Sitemeter and Statcounter

Adsense report is showing about 1.5 times the page views that my Statcounter and Sitemeter reports are showing.

    Any idea what it is?

It they are multiplying it by the number of ad units, it should be 3 times. But it actually is about 1.3 to 1.5 times.

Which is different for different channels too.

One channel which has about 300 page views on sitemeter is being shown as 700 page views in adsense, while another with 400 in sitemeter shows 500 in adsense.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the first thing which comes to my mind is time difference:)

@ gr8liverpoolfan, you are correct about the time difference, but I am talking about Average Hits here, and i have analysed weekly hits too. Adsense Shows more.

@dnk: No they don't track channels but I have sitemeter installed in all the different channels so it is almsot similar, huh?

Statcounter and Sitemeter shows similar stats though.

Sometimes if you have Adsense units at the bottom of the page, they may not get loaded or show PSA, so the number of ad impressions will be less

Statcounter doesn't count from the log and doesn't count websites with cookies not enabled.

I like statcounter because its resolves IP addresses, but I have watched it at midnight, and the page summary and the ip resolved pages don't always add up.

I don't know of any counter that you can take as an exact science, except perhaps cpanel's "Latest Visitors" - but I would love to be corrected!
