Adsense - slightly threatening message from Google Team

I just got one of those messages from Google Adsense, saying that I was in breach of the policies... I wish I knew what I was breaching so I could fix it.

I've included an excerpt of the email below. Does anyone have any ideas what I may have done to be sent to the Google Naughty Corner?

While reviewing your account, we noticed that you are currently displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our policies. For instance, we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as http://www.tshirtalert.com/funk-yeah.

Publishers are not permitted to encourage users to click on Google ads or bring excessive attention to ad units. For example, your site cannot contain phrases such as "click the ads," "support our sponsors," "visit these recommended links," or other similar language that could apply to the Google ads on your site. Publishers may not use arrows or other symbols to direct attention to the ads on their sites, and publishers may not label the Google ads with text other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements."

I think the message is as clear as it can be.
Make sure to fix the issues they presented to you.

Send them an email, promissing to review all your web sites and make sure you take appropriate action immediately.

Probably because your ads look like normal page tabs, this might confuse your visitors into thinking that its part of your website

Remove all the lines which makes user to click on the ads. you can only use "advertisments" and "sponsored ads" for google ads. Other than these are treated against TOS.

I'm still confused. I'm not forcing or urging the user to click on ads, to my knowledge.

The placement of the Google Adwords is as per the Wordpress template I downloaded, that is probably used by thousands of Wordpress blog owners.

Danger, you may have a point, but what should I do? Change the colour of the text? Is there a Google Adsense guru somewhere who can give me more info on the guidelines?

    Just a thought. GL

I totally agree - it's just determining what "it" is that seems to be the issue.....

I am seeing one problem in your first post "super obama world" where at end of post there is a link
"click here" to read the full article from Milk Bread Digital.
where word click here is too close to google ad and people confuse with word click here and where to click - on ad or on link.
    just my thought.

If you don't understand what you mean than send them a question saying that you think you are compliant with their TOS.

Alternatively you post your domain and maybe we can help you on this ...

I've emailed them already, I dare say it might be more than 3 days before they respond.

Point noted, but that's only in the most recent post - the example Google picked up was in a totally unrelated post...

Regardless, thanks for picking that up, I've update that "Click here" link to something more meaningful. It's bad practice to be using click here anyways...!

Now you've got a 404 error page in the funk yeah frame. Google doesn't like that either. Good luck.

Yeah, I got rid of that page in the end due to the potential misinterpretation of the language used on it. Hopefully it just disappears of my site map and gets deindexed.

THE GOOD NEWS - after making a few modifications to my site, and notifying Google via email, I received a response from Google saying I was back in compliance.

The funny thing - they still never told me precisely which issue it was that triggered the threat in the first place....

It happens when someone issues a complaint to Google about your adsense placements . Mostly your competitors or people not interested in you making money. Best thing we can do is to stick on adsense policies . These days its very difficult to get approved from adsense , so correct those issues to save your account.
