Hopefully an expert can answer this question, but all responses are read and taken note of. Great “Out of the box” thinking requires views from all points. As is, I believe the best SEO strategy.

I’m my Google adsense site diagnostics I am getting a blocked url with reason blocked not found, on jul 26, 2008. It was a test page I had been working on with adsense and some other stuff a while back, but I accidently left it online.

Is it best to just take down the page or put something in replacement of it, like a 301, custom 404 or something. I’m just wondering what the best course of action to get the spiders back. =)

That question might have no relevance at all but I like a few honest opinions. If any.

This is what’s stated on the google adsense site diagnontics page.
    Over a beer. =)

I'd simple serve a custom 404, usually with a search box and some category links. Let the user decide what they want to do if they hit the 404 but also to inform the bots the page had been removed.
