AdSense - Simple doubt...

    Hi all,
I am aware that the top most (first) adsense unit in a web page gets the high paying ads.

Does it include Link Unit also ?

For example, lets say - I have a 728x15 link unit at the top of page and then a 336x280 ad unit below that link unit.

Is it that all high paying ads go into link unit ?

Sorry if I am not clear in my explanation
    :(

Not sure how they figure it out. If you have banner at top and skyscraper on side that is just as close to top wich one is best.

That is why you keep track of ads with channels to see wich ones pays best.

Link unit is a 2 click process. They need to click on an advertisement on the search paid for you to get paid. Therefore, there is no "high paying ad" with the link unit. It depends on the search results + secondary search results ad click.

I know how they figure it out. I read it somewhere. Whatever ad unit code appears first in your web page's source code - is considered to be top unit.

So if we want, we can try writing the source code so that the ad unit that is displayed (in the web page view) in high click probability area is at the top of source code.
(I mean, whatever ad unit that appears at top of your web page need not necessarily be placed at the top of source code. The order can be different.

That is what my guess is. But I have not found any confirmation anywhere.

Just in case - There is a possibility that Google may place the important keywords (for which high paying ads are present) as first search word.... and so on...
