    I have never faced any cuts so far, I don't know why your bank is cutting fee's, Yes its a Local Check which can be en cashed in any City Bank branch Across India.
    If your bank is charging you money you should inquire why are they taking away so much money from you.

    I have no problem with paypal being an option but I would be horrified if it was the ONLY option. Right now the money goes straight to my bank account and I have to do nothing. Paypal would add an extra step.

    I can only wish Google use Paypal or other online money transfer. Yeah, I agree, it's a big headache encashing a cheque.

    Yep Hdfc is also a better option I too have account with them.
    Still they also have charges for outstation cheques ... minimum is 50Rs and max depends on amt.
    What I would suggest is to call them(have the nos from hdfcbank.com) and ask about charges before opening an account!!!

    Thankz for the info they say u can get it with very little charges upto 10,000
    but u cant deposit cheque of over 10,000 unless u have HDFC Max account where will i go if i get payment of over 10,000

    Hey if you are from india, you can not use electronic systems.

    Google always send local cheque not outstation.
    The cheque will be sent from singapore but it will be locan and get cleared in 3 working days from any bank.

    Don't worry it's a trick by salesguy to make you open for a premium account .... just get there regular saving account that will be enough.
    Charges in the booklet I have are 1Re for every deposit of 1000Rs with min of Rs50 however I am not sure exactly.

    The Check is sent from Singapore and is made payable at all CITI BANK Branches in INDIA.

    so if you are in a city where CITI Bank is present .. your check is considered for local clearance and you will not be charged even a single Rupee( its free). It takes only 1 or 2 days to clear.

    If you r in a city where citi bank is not present you will be charged at the rate any way between Rs 1 per Rs1000 to Rs 3 per Rs 1000. takes any way between 15 days to 45 days based on your city

    If you r in Metros or state capitals then its a big advantage...

    select INR from type of currency !
