I m from india i finished my 100$ Last month it took me 3 months to do that now i recieved my cheque from singapore and my local bank cut down 12.5% service tax because this cheque is from outside india.

Google adsense do have branches in india why dont they send us cheques from here we are wasting 12.5% of our earnings for nothing.

I am also from India. I have account in SBI and ICICI. SBI cuts just Rs 80 for adsense checks. ICICI cuts around a few hundreds but I think its proportionate to the amt. But its not 12.5% as u specified. Adsense cheques are payable in any CITIBank branch in india. So its treated like any "other bank checks" and Indian banks charges accordingly. Which bank are u using?

I don't think any bank will charge 12.5%. If you do not have a citibank branch in your city they will just charge you for the collection of an outstation cheque which in most cases is less than 100rs irrespective of the amount.

Why are you using cheques? This is a wordwide business - just get it paid electronically into your bank account.

Hey come on.. I am from Bangladesh... Got few cheques but got the full payment... Only few Taka's have been cut by my bank..

You might not have submitted any supporting paper with the cheque.

By the Way you received cheque from Singapore in which currency?

Also we should inform them to support Western Union as they support this to Pakistan and other countries so why not in India and Bangladesh?

You know all this before you sign up and start using Adsense. If you don't like the deal then use someone else - either bank or advertiser.

Certainly ask Google to supply local cheques but it's unrealistic for them to do this for every country in the world...
Maybe you would be better to talk to your bank manager about why they don't support electronic transfers from the USA.

Is it a co-operative bank? Then there is no wonder they took 12%. You need to get account in some nationalised bank. Other wise they will get richer at your cost. Getting a new bank account is very easy now a days.
