Adsense search on error pages?

I've seen some people / sites which suggest using the adsense search box on your 404 or similar error pages. It's not exactly showing ads on your error pages, but still feels questionable to me.

Can someone give a definite if this is allowed/prohibited?

    Thanks

At one time this was against the rules. It was actually mentioned somewhere in T&C or the program policies. However it was later said that you could use it on an error page as long as that page held content. For example I have a 400 error page that are exact copies of the main index file. That way I never lose a guest. I still have not placed an ad on those error pages because I remember the old rules.

After going back and searching the T&C I see that the line is still in place

OK, but it doesn't say the search, if they meant the search they would have added it to the list. SO I think it's fine and relevant on a 404 page.
