Strange stuff is going on for a lot of people right now; I've seen a dive in earnings over the last few days as well. I blame the economy.

Because Google doesn't value your blog. Doesn't matter if you are pushing a niche that pays 20 a click if Google doesn't want to reward your site they won't.

Honestly, I think it's worthwhile to explain a bit more than simply saying "Google doesn't like your blog." First of all, I really do believe the economy is mostly responsible for the significant earnings drops we've been seeing from established sites. That said, here are some other factors that can affect blogs:

    1. Blog Post Rate - If you're not updating your blog every couple of days (at minimum), you won't get love from the search engines. They like fresh content, especially Google. A few months of daily quality posts will work wonders for any site.

    2. Page Quality - If you're using a major CMS package to drive your blog, be sure to use popular plugins that take care of a lot of the SEO for you (descriptive URLs, meta tags, etc). There are other plugins that will automatically generate a nice XML sitemap for you and notify search engines when you publish new content. Also be sure to use header tags (h2, h3) where appropriate to define sections in each post. Length of posts matters, too; I aim for a minimum of 300 words per post, and I take the time to write quality content that is (mostly, hey I'm human) free of grammatical and spelling errors. Proofread twice, post once :).

    3. Hosting Stability - If your site is frequently down or very slow to respond to requests, this can be taken as a negative sign by search engines.

    4. Low CPC / MFA Ads - Some sites have reported benefits from using services like AdsBlacklist.com to help filter out ad sources that are reported as MFA or low CPC. I've personally seem positive results from using that service, although your mileage may vary.

While this isn't anywhere near an exhaustive list of things to check, I hope it helps somewhat. Good luck with your sites :).

Exactly, no one gonna take a vacation in this economy :D
Page Quality plays a big factor in adsense click rate.
the problem behind is : people want to make money with a trash content. they'd never think that an advertiser is paying money to see his website in good websites and not a stolen content.

    Hi,
The Adsense ads in spots where your visitors can see them. If someone clicks on an ad, Google pays you anywhere from a few cents to several dollars. But as you keep getting traffic, it can REALLY add up. And in a niche such as get your ex back, advertisers spend CASH MONEY, resulting in high payouts per click for you.
