Actually, the scammer's plan will allow him to continue using AdSense for as long as he can get new boxes. So ... assuming Google can't put a stop to this ... And there's little to stop him from moving to another advertiser and scamming through them.

As far as Web 2.0, it's wrong to think that it's solely about the technology. Web 2.0 is also about the user providing valuable content, esp. via blogs and wikis. After all, Wikipedia was once Web 2.0's poster child, but OSS (open source software) is in the focus more and more.

Since the Web is now 'available' to more people then it was during the pre-Web 2.0 period, monetizing content and ideas is also available to a larger audience. Instead of the big online advertisers, that were not available to the average content creator, there's more and more ways for Joe Schmoe to make some money off of their site.

Money's not the only reason people put content on the Web, but I think the once small niche is becoming larger and larger.

Sorry, maybe a little off-topic, but still relevant to the previous posts.

Idiot. His AdSense page is full of keywords. After that, he iframe it on the other page, without those keywords.
So he can just choose what kind of ads to serve. Reported.

From my experience google doesn't SOME offending publishers to seriously. I have reported several, and still they dispaly adsense ads to this day. It appears the same with this guy. :/

I think it is kind of funny to see this thread, while also having read through others like "I clicked my ads 3 times and now I am banned"

The ad code is still up because it has the generic statement "You are not authorized to view this page", which means, he's banned.
