Adsense scam!!! Maybe you've heard of it

I recall seeing this script on Ebay that allowed you to hide an adsense banner behind a surface page. For example, if somebody went to your website page they would see a page that appears to have a "Welcome" or "Enter" link. What people dont' know is that there's an adsense banner hidden behind that fake link. When people click on it they have no idea they just clicked on an adsense banner.

I tried searching for it on Ebay but I guess it was taken off. Obviously that would eventually happen.

Very true! It's like making money for Google. Earn your ass off and finally when the earnings are finalized, you are informed that you have been BANNED! :D

Quite a genius, also very hard to detect, there will be no whistle blower as the surfers won't be able to see the adsense. The user's only problem will be too high a CTR since people assume they click that to enter the site, so those people who want to enter the site will have to click on it. Smart! Pity the programmer use his genius in the wrong way!

Even if a PUB ID# as used in a "Enter Site" link google simply won't credit it to your account because the clickthrough % ratio would be very high.

If you ever have added a new adsense script to a new website and page loaded it twice and clicked ads 2x your clickthorugh rate would be 100%, hell- they don't even credit at 5%!!

But watch this credit of 2x now, it will appear as cash as your imp's increase to like 400, so now it's 1% ratio. This is to avoid clickfraud,

So in the end here if you really did have true clickthrough customers at 10% ratio they just won't pay it. To be a good adesense cleint, stay under 1%. Now unless you have some idiot out to revenge you that clicks your ads night and day on your low traffic site, If your click patterns are abnormally higher then usual that report it to support.

Pretty inventive - I think google will know since they can track no of visitors vs clicks. If it high - then it might arouse their suspicion. Truly one way of getting banned by Google Adsense

I like the way people come with out of the box numbers and rules? Do you actually have proof of what you're talking about? My girlfriend blogs about shoes and after tweaking with adsense, I got her to a 5+% CTR, today we are at 9+% CTR. She has been paid for it every time. I don't know where you get your 1% rule but it sounds like misinformation to me ( to be polite!).

That said, high CTR will definitely get you checked out by google but a clever guy like that would have thought of it and taken the appropriate measures...

I'd say where he pulled those numbers from but I'll be polite, too. Suffice it to say, the "keep it below 1%" rule is BS. There's nothing wrong with 5% or 10% or higher if it's legitimate traffic and clicks

Actually I believe you can see that you're clicking on an adsense ad by looking at the bottom of your browser immediately after the click or hovering over the "Feedback - Ads by Google" link. But then again I don't have the script and never used it so I'm not too sure.

I thought google killed the ability to use the hover function. That's what made it impossible to see what ad urls your visitors clicked on?
