Adsense ROI(return on investment) question

This question is for only those people who invest quite big amount on producing content and SEO work to earn income from Adsense.

If I invest $1000 a month for a whole year on developing and marketing websites in different niches and after working for full one year if I am earning $200 a month from all the websites I developed.

    Should I be earning more?

I am not asking how much do you make, but how does it compare with your ROI.

So you spend $1000 a month and you earn $200 per month? Or you earn $1200 a month, so $200 benefit?
In any case, your money is not spent wisely as my own return on investment is far greater.
There's something wrong in your method, I think the money spent is not returning you enough traffic and/or your ad placement is not optimized.

From experience, you should definitely be earning more if you are spending 1k a month on it.

Let me make it clear again.

    I spent $1000 a month in 2009. so total investment in 2009 was $12,000.
Since then I have not spend any money.
Now I am making $200 a month from Adsense.

In other words my ROI is that I will recover my investment in 60 months(5 years) (60X200=$12,000).

    My question is:
How does this ROI compares with yours.
Do you recover your investment in 1 year, 2 year...
It will help if you post answers in years.
Lets see how many years does it takes for an average adsense publisher to recover his cost/investment.

Well, for a start I never spent $1000 a month for a whole year. So I started recovering my investment very quickly, only a few months, since my investment was webhosting + domain names + a few ads (not really needed)
** sorry, only at this point do I realize that I shouldn't have replied to your post since you said it's only for people investing money on content producing and seo **

What do you have today with $12000 spent? How did you spend it?
If you spent it on web design and content producing, do you have now a large website?
$200 a month it seems to me you must have only a few thousands ad impressions a day.
Did you spend the money on attracting traffic though ads?

How quickly you'll get back your investment depends on what you have now in terms of web property and are earnings likely to increase as a result of organic traffic (from search engine)?

I have also plan like that to spend about $1000 each month building sites. I was only on 2nd month to have earning just like you ($200/mo for $2000 investment). There's something wrong on your way. Can you explain what have you done with your money?

Could you please share your plan with us? It seems a bit unreal to me... Did you start building websites in month A and in month C, having spent 2000$, you make 200$ a month?

Yes I did. Starting the project on middle of February, my Earning until last March is $200 from the sites I just created.

My route is micro niche sites, nothing new I guess. But yes, it is hard work and great persistence to have like this. I hope it will go for good in the rest of my plan.

Why stop? Keep building sites, just spend less on promotions. Surely, you must have learned what worked and what didn't when you were spending money. Cut out the parts that were't working and increase you ROI right away. You've already done the research, now keep the train a rollin.
