AdSense revenues a few years ago

Hey,

I didn't have time to fully document on this. It would be easier on me to post here.
I listened to someone say two weeks ago that in the beginning, AdSense publishers were getting clicks that could go as high as $100.
Unfortunately, he didn't provide any arguments related to that.

Can any of you confirm/deny the statement?

I have never seen a click pay that much myself. I do not believe any company can pay $100 per click and make money. They would have to pay google hundreds of dollars for each click and sell something that made thousands of dollars to make a profit.

I do think earnings will go up with new program to stop made for adsense sites.

Yes, that seems unreal for today's advertisers, but hey, who knows what happened back then?

 

i do know there were a few cancer keywords a few years ago that paid as high as 60$ a click

That's pretty much impossible.
People exaggerate sometimes, it was $1 maybe

 

Like in any field the old days where the best at paying

 

well a $100 click can be justified.

If your selling houses in exclusive beverly hills areas for millions of $$ a $100 per click would be nominal to the amount you would get for selling the house.

I have never seen a click pay that much before. I have personally have gotten a three dollar click and i thought people were crazy for paying that much for click throughs, but I guess if your product is worth a lot and it makes sense then go for it!
